Law school clinics

A legal clinic (also called a law school clinic or law clinic ) is a program organized through law school that allows students to receive law school credit as they work part-time in real (not simulated) legal service atmospheres. A legal clinic (also law clinic or law school clinic ) is a legal aid or law school program providing services to various clients and often hands-on-legal experience to law school students. Clinics are usually directed by clinical professors. Legal clinics typically do pro bono work in a particular area, providing free legal services to clients.

The Law Clinic is run by law student volunteers. Cornell Law School Cornell law school ’s clinics are tackling myriad legal aspects of the coronavirus outbreak, from helping business owners and advocating for the release of immigrant families held. Law School clinics are members of Morningside Heights Legal Services , Inc.

Clinical Legal Education Delivering access to justice while teaching UB law students to be excellent, ethical, and engaged lawyers. The Children’s Law Clinic provides free legal advice, advocacy, and legal representation to low-income, at-risk children in cases involving special education, school discipline, and children’s disability benefits. If they meet economic, legal and jurisdictional guidelines, they will be represented by law students who are supervised by practicing attorneys. Business Transactions Clinic. The clinical programs at Moritz provide an approach to clinical education that is distinctive among American law schools. They represent clients during the preparation, trial, and appeal of cases in litigation or in law -related transactions and projects.


Clinic students provide legal services directly or work closely with faculty members on complex cases. To be eligible to enroll in most in-house clinics , students must be in their last two years of law school. Suffolk Defenders and Suffolk Prosecutors are only open to students in their final year.

Though law school clinics often focus on trial law , there are some law schools which offer transactional law clinics , including prestigious institutions like Stanford Law School and Harvard Law.


The Media Freedom and Information Access Clinic (MFIA) is a law school clinic dedicated to increasing government transparency, defending the essential work of news gatherers, and protecting freedom of expression through impact litigation, direct legal services, and policy work. McKinney School of Law does not give advice or accept cases at the school. The organizations listed below may be able to help individuals seeking legal assistance in the state of Indiana.
