How to copy a company in sage 50

Create a new company. Copy information from another company.

You must not restore a backup copy of the data files and rebuild. Copy a COA within the same company. On the navigation bar click Nominal codes then click Chart of accounts. Select the relevant chart of accounts, then click Copy. Amend the title as require then click Save.


To copy a document from one company to another. Right-click your document and click Show in Explorer. In the Explorer window, right-click your document and click Copy , then close the Explorer window.


Open the company you want to copy the report to.

Alternatively you could cough up some money for a contractor to come and resolve this. Make a backup from the file menu. Then restore it, taking the option to restore to a new company. When the restore process is finishe you will be in the new company. Go to the Maintain menu and choose Company Information to change the name so you can tell it apart from your live data.


After entering information into all the screens, then click the “Finish” button. Only the other companies in the same format will appear. If you chose the new company as a Premium company , you only see the other Premium companies. This is because you are using the Accountants edition. You can connect to your data in Sage Drive when you are not in the office and enter transactions.


To import customer, supplier and product records when setting up your company As part of setting up your company in Sage Accounts, you can enter details of your customers, suppliers and products. To save time, if you have these details stored in a comma separated values (CSV) file or an Excel spreadsheet, you can import them directly into Sage Accounts. Connect to a company on Sage Drive.

I do not know about importing the opening balances but you can import suppliers and customers detials in Sage Line V9.
