Contributory aged parent visa

What is contributory aged parent? Can I get a bridging visa for non contributory aged parent 804? Contributory aged parent visas are visas that require a huge monetary ‘donation’ to the government.

It may seem unfair, but this is the government’s way of covering any ‘liabilities’ your parents may bring with them. It’s painfully costly, but family is family.

A subclass 8visa allows you to live in Australia – and to work if you choose – as a permanent resident. The BVA enables you to remain lawfully in Australia while your visa application is being processed. The Australian Government has included ‘ contributory ’ parent visa categories into the Parent Visa scheme. Contributory Parent visa This permanent visa lets a parent of a settled Australian citizen , Australian permanent resident of Australia or eligible New Zealand citizen move to Australia. Aged Parent visa This permanent visa lets an aged parent of a settle Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen stay in Australia.

The aged parent visa processing time = around years v. Important: you are NOT eligible for any medicare in Australia until you are granted a parent visa , so that is a consideration.

You will have to wait before you become eligible: Two years for most social security. Ten years for age and disability pension payments. This Visa requires that you be sponsored by your child or another eligible sponsor in Australia. However, based on current planning levels, we estimate new Contributory Parent visa applications lodged that meet the criteria to be queued are likely to take approximately at least months to be released for final processing. It lets you stay in Australia indefinitely.

For citizenship purposes, your permanent residency starts on the day you are granted the visa. Parents can file applications for a contributory parent visa if their child is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. The difference between the two contributory parent visas is that Subclass 1visa is a temporary visa which allows the parent(s) to live in Australia for two years only. You could go the long route and work from a temporary contributory visa (subclasses 1and 884) to a permanent contributory visa (subclasses 1and 8respectively) or you could go directly for the permanent contributory visa (subclasses 1and 864). Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864): How long you can stay This is a permanent visa.

I am planning to apply for Parent Visa subclass 143. In the Form 47PA, we need to enter Australia Visitor Visa nos (Q 13). It starts with letter V. But we got paper visa having no Visa nos starting with letter V. Please advise what need to be entered.

To apply for this visa , an applicant will need to be sponsored by their child in Australia. ContentsCONTRIBUTORY AGED PARENT (TEMPORARY) VISA (SUBCLASS 884)1. Suitable Sponsor CONTRIBUTORY AGED PARENT (TEMPORARY) VISA (SUBCLASS 884) Overview This temporary visa allows the aged parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to stay temporarily in Australia. This visa is temporary and cannot be extended or renewed. Most applicants must be sponsored by their child. These visas are usually applied for offshore unless you can meet the definition of “Aged Parent”.

To qualify as an ‘ aged parent ’ men must be over years of age and the age eligibility for women is gradually being increased until 65. The contributory parent 1visa is a temporary visa which allows the applicant to live in Australia for two years.

Many thanks to everyone for the responses to my query about the contributory parent visa versus the contributory aged parent visa. It was so reassuring to feel no longer alone with all the issues and to know there is a tremendous community out there willing to help and advise.
